Cannonball - June 23rd, 2012
Cannonball is a one-day, ultra marathon endurance ride between Seattle and Spokane. It is 276 miles long, of which all but 17 miles are on the shoulder of Interstate 90. Cannonball 2011 began at 3:00AM on Saturday, June 25th, 2011. Because of the daunting challenges of Cannonball, the number of riders in the field is small. The 44 starters in 1993 made up one of the largest groups ever. Cannonball has usually included the best endurance riders in the state. Nearly every Northwestern participant in the Race Across America (RAAM) has used Cannonball as a training ride.
