Cannonball Overview
Cannonball is a one-day, ultra marathon endurance ride between Seattle and Spokane. It is 275 miles long, of which all but 17 miles are on the shoulder of Interstate 90. Because of the daunting challenges of Cannonball, the number of riders in the field is small. The 44 starters in 1993 made up one of the largest groups ever. Cannonball has usually included the best endurance riders in the state. Nearly every Northwestern participant in the Race Across America (RAAM) has used Cannonball as a training ride.
