June 4-5 - Mazama weekend

This year’s annual Mazama Bike Ride, sponsored by Redmond Cycling Club, will be Saturday and Sunday, June 4 & 5, 2005. As usual, the ride starts in Marblemount on Saturday. We ride 75 miles on the North Cascades Highway, over Rainy and Washington Passes (6800 ft of climbing), into the gorgeous Methow valley, ending our day at the Mazama Country Inn. We stay overnight at the Mazama Country Inn and then head back Sunday morning (4800 ft of climbing). Last year, Mazama Country Inn added a swimming pool and work-out room, so in addition to soaking in the hot tub after the ride, you can now lift some weights and swim a few laps after Saturday's ride!

The cost for the ride is $115 for non-members, $110 for current RCC members. Your fee covers sag support, lunch en route both days, lodging at Mazama Country Inn, Saturday snack and dinner (Copper River salmon!), and breakfast Sunday morning. You pay your money and ride. We take care of everything else!

Sign up now! Print a copy of the registration form and send it in. As usual, the ride is limited to 56 people—the sleeping capacity of Mazama Country Inn.

Volunteer Opportunities: The ride needs three sag vehicles/drivers. Sag drivers carry gear to/from Mazama Country Inn, patrol the course, provide water along the route, and serve lunch both days. RCC reimburses your gas expenses, and you’ll stay for free at Mazama Country Inn. In other words, it’s a free weekend in return for your services as sag driver. If you’d like to volunteer to sag this year’s ride, contact Lola.

If you have any questions, feedback, or want to volunteer, contact Lola Jacobsen: lolajacobsen@comcast.net, 425-641-7841.
